Watch LookMovie. “El Papel” explores the tension between identity and representation, showing how a woman, in her eagerness to project security and fit into an idealized professional image, ends up trapped in the construction of a character that distances her from herself. The résumé, the paper she has to hand in, is not just a document, but the symbol of a version of herself that she must interpret, a mask that she strives to make believable; ultimately, a role.
