Watch LookMovie. Alois Diethelm-Signer from Sattel is the last Swiss tree ladder maker. He has been producing tree ladders for orchards since 1966. He used to make up to 300 ladders a year, but today he still makes a good 40. Despite declining demand, he continues to work, supported by his wife, out of a love of the craft.
